Overview
People’s Plan was an initiative aimed at putting people’s voices at the heart of the UK’s post-pandemic recovery. The campaign sought to persuade the government to implement a green recovery plan that would tackle climate change while boosting the economy. As a volunteer, I created the visual identity and supporting graphics to communicate the campaign’s key messages effectively.

Design Solutions
An abstract logo with three figures holding symbols of the sun, a leaf, and a water droplet, emphasising the connection between people, the planet, and sustainable practices. The tagline "The People’s Planet. The People’s Economy." reinforces the campaign’s mission.

As a supportive illustration I designed a megaphone with the letters "PP" inside, symbolising the amplification of people’s voices. Surrounding elements like a leaf, speech bubble, recycling symbol, sun, and water droplet represent environmental and social themes.

Usage of a vibrant colour palette (blue, yellow, green, light blue, and red) to create a visually appealing and cohesive look.

Infographics and Action Areas: I designed ten action areas that the government should implement, each represented by an icon and a brief description. These actions include "Low Cost, Low Carbon Travel," "Empower the Workforce," "Sustainable Food System," "Retrofit Our Homes," "Waste Not, Want Not," "If Nature is Protected, People are Protected," "Clean Energy," "Invest in Our Future," "Responsible Bailouts," and "Hold Polluters Accountable." Each action area is visually engaging and easy to understand. Along with graphic designer Sigita Budraitytė we created some infographics to support the action areas and displayed as social media carousels .

Impact
The visual identity and infographics played a crucial role in making the campaign’s complex ideas accessible and engaging.

While formal petition results have not been published through UK Government APIs or archived media outlets, the supporting campaign ran actively from May 2020 to November 2021 and mobilised supporters through online engagement channels. This work aligned with broader public sentiment during the pandemic, where major climate opinion surveys showed overwhelming support (~80%) for stronger national climate action. The campaign’s legacy persists in ongoing public dialogues about green and just recovery, informing later community processes such as the People’s Plan for Nature, which drew ~30,000 public responses in its participatory phase
